Why OPTI CLEAN™ TECHNOLOGY?

During the warm period of the year, air-cooled devices often pose a limitation to the production process, resulting in the desired production capacity not being met. 

This limitation can arise, among other things, on the outside of the finned bundles due to contamination from the environment, such as pollen and seeds from nearby agricultural or natural areas, and dust and grease particles originating from industrial sites.

OPTI CLEAN dry cleaning for fast measurable results

The OPTI CLEAN™ dry cleaning method is a self-operating system, including a compressor, blasting vessel, hoses, and a spray lance. 

The method is suitable for cleaning contaminated bundles in both safe areas and ATEX environments.

Improved airside performance

A clean bundle improves the airside airflow, allowing the cooler/condenser to function optimally.

Improved air cooler performance

Due to improved airflow, the outlet temperature decreases as part of the process. Cleaning removes the insulating deposits, restoring optimal heat transfer.

Increased reliability and availability

With a contaminated bundle, the airflow can be blocked, causing vibrations in the fan and drivetrain, with the risk of failure.

Increased lifespan of electric motor

If the bundle is clean, the pressure drop across the bundle will be as calculated. As a result, the motor will operate at the design point and the mean time between failure will be high.

Additional positive effects of OPTI CLEAN

  • For Induced Draft Coolers: no production loss during cleaning; the fans remain operational
  • For Forced Draft Coolers: minimal production loss during cleaning; one fan is switched off while the others remain in operation
  • No damage to the finning; the bundles are cleaned using low pressure (5-6 bar)
  • No risk of damage to the finning; it is not necessary to walk over the bundle. We spray from the underside.
  • For dry cleaning, low-pressure equipment is required, and compared to high-pressure water cleaning, this method provides time savings when applying for work permits.
  • No water damage to equipment in the vicinity of the cooler, such as motors, bearings, and pumps.
  • The blasting powder causes no additional wear or rust formation on the installation.

Technical explanation OPTI CLEAN™ TECHNOLOGY

The cleaning process is a non-destructive method for cleaning the finned bundles while the equipment is in operation. Our system mixes sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) with compressed air and, using a spray lance, we clean the contaminated surface.

Through micro-fragmentation, the special mixture literally explodes on the surface without causing any damage to the fins. This removes dust, grease, oil, soot, pollen, and other contaminants.

No adverse effects from the dry cleaning process

The blasting agent is non-abrasive, dissolves in water, does not cause corrosion, and is biodegradable. Combined with the use of low-pressure air, this is a unique method of dry cleaning that restores your equipment to its original design specifications.

We provide our own blasting kettle, air dryer, hoses, spray lance, and compressor to carry out the work in both safe areas and ATEX environments.

Optional services

Validation

Before our team starts the work, baseline measurements for airflow and pressure drop can be performed. By measuring again after the cleaning activities, the progress is validated

We include both measurements in a cleaning report, giving you insight into the superiority of the dry cleaning method compared to conventional or similar methods.
