Dani's story

Dani's story at Wilton Heat Transfer

Meet Dani (25), a mechanic at Wilton Heat Transfer. What started as a spontaneous internship through the STC (Shipping and Transport College) grew into a career full of technology and international assignments. Dani has now been a permanent member of the team for over five years and travels all over the Netherlands and beyond for his work.

“I was actually supposed to do my internship somewhere else, but that company never responded,” Dani explains. “My mentor then arranged an interview at Wilton. After just a month of internship, I was already offered a contract. That immediately felt right.”

What appeals to Dani most about his work? The variety. No day is the same. “I work locally, but also in Alkmaar, Drenthe, England, Germany, and offshore. You’re never in the same place for long. Sometimes I start early in the morning, sometimes I’m on the road to a job far away. That dynamic suits me.”

Although he often works with regular colleagues, Dani also enjoys mentoring young interns. “It’s great to teach them the trade and see them grow. That’s how we keep the knowledge alive within the company.”

There are challenges too, especially the unexpected. “You arrive on site and it turns out to be different than expected. Then you have to switch quickly and find a solution that works for the client. Sometimes it’s a puzzle, but it’s also the best part. Customer satisfaction always comes first, I always say.”

Why should someone come to work at Wilton? Dani is clear: “You get opportunities here. I started as an intern and am now an experienced mechanic traveling across Europe. You work with great colleagues, learn something new every day, and have a lot of freedom. If you love technology and aren’t afraid of a little adventure, this is the place for you.”

André's story

André about working at Wilton: Here you really get the space to help build

André (38) has been active in sales at Wilton Heat Transfer for five years. Based in Nijkerk, he combines his work with a busy family life in Amersfoort, where he and his wife are raising three young children. That balance between work and private life is essential for him, and that is exactly what he has found at Wilton. “At Wilton, I can schedule my own appointments. That flexibility is worth its weight in gold and it stems from trust. Here, you’re not being monitored, but taken seriously.”

What André finds special about Wilton is that it’s much more than just a sales position. “In addition to my work in sales, I’ve taken on marketing. I helped develop our new website and brochures. If you have a good idea here, you can just execute it. That’s the difference with larger companies: at Wilton, you don’t have to go through five departments to get something done.”

The sales team is compact but powerful. “We’re a small group, and it works. Everyone knows what’s going on and we switch gears quickly. That makes the work personal and effective. And we’re growing, so reinforcement is welcome!”

Do you want to work at a company where you’re not put in a box, but where you can contribute ideas, build, and grow? Where flexibility isn’t an empty promise, but daily practice? Then Wilton Heat Transfer might just be your next step.

What really sets Wilton apart according to André? The opportunity to contribute ideas about the direction of the company. “If you see where something can be improved and you have it in you to make it happen, you’ll get that chance. Here, decisiveness is rewarded. You’re not just someone who carries out tasks. You’re given the space to actively contribute ideas and take initiative.”

Yannick's story

Yannick about Wilton Heat Transfer: Here you get the chance to grow

Amidst the pipes and installations, we meet Yannick (28 years old), Engineer at Wilton Heat Transfer. Almost three years ago, he started at Wilton, right after completing his Mechanical Engineering studies. “I want to work somewhere my knowledge is truly valued and where I’m not stuck in a single role. I found that at Wilton.”

Yannick got in touch with one of the owners through a classmate. His graduation profile was a perfect match for Wilton, which gave him the opportunity to do an internship. “After two weeks, it was already clear: this fits. The internship then became the start of his career at Wilton.

His role is anything but standard. “My main role is Engineering, but I help out wherever needed. Sometimes as lead engineer, sometimes as project manager, like today on site. That variety is crucial for me. I don’t like tunnel vision. I want to keep learning and stay flexible.”

He also appreciates the balance between working indoors and outdoors. “Normally, I spend about 85% of my time indoors and 15% outdoors. That’s ideal for me. Now, due to a large project, I’m on site more often. That’s part of the job and it keeps you sharp. You see directly what’s going on and can respond more quickly.”

Do you want to work at a company where your knowledge and ambition are valued? Where you can grow, have varied work, and truly make an impact? Then Wilton Heat Transfer might just be your next step.

What, according to Yannick, sets Wilton apart from other companies? “Here, you get the opportunity to grow, even if you’ve just finished school. They don’t just look at your diploma, but especially at your potential. If you show initiative and dare to take responsibility, you’ll get chances here to do something with it. You’re not put in a box. You’re allowed to contribute ideas, help build, and move along.”

Dave's story

Dave about Wilton Heat Transfer: They saw my qualities, not just my CV

Dave is a planner and work preparer at Wilton Heat Transfer. He lives in Oostvoorne with his wife and has two children. His career is anything but standard: from chef to herbalist, from teacher to road builder. Yet, at Wilton, he found a place where his talents are truly valued.

“I didn’t have a technical background, but Wilton saw my potential and gave me the chance to grow,” Dave explains. During the COVID period, he worked in road construction until that work stopped. Through an informal conversation with owner Evert, who still remembered him from the hockey field, he got his foot in the door at Wilton. “I walked in wearing my orange overalls for a cup of coffee. Evert immediately knew: Dave is someone who gets things done and keeps an overview.”

What immediately struck Dave was the way Wilton looks at people. “They don’t judge you by your resume, but by your qualities, motivation, and ability to learn. My experience in leadership, planning, and organizing turned out to be valuable, even though I came from a completely different sector. Wilton believes in developing talent and truly provides the space for it.”

Dave became a permanent employee in 2023. His role as planner/work preparer grew along with his development. He now supports technicians, conducts safety rounds, and visits project sites. “I mainly work in the office, but I also go out when needed. That variety keeps the work interesting.”

What does Dave think really makes Wilton special? “It’s an organization you can help build. If you show initiative and demonstrate a willingness to learn, you get the chance to develop yourself. You’re not limited by your background, but rather challenged to use your qualities in new ways.”

Do you want to work at a company that looks beyond your resume? Where your talents and ambitions are central, and you have the space to grow? Then Wilton Heat Transfer might just be your next step.
